DESCRIPTION: Transforming guest room into two separate bedrooms for 2 small children, ages 4.5 and 2. Ideally, each bedroom will have its own unique character, but with (a) unifying element(s). The larger room will be for a girl, and the smaller room is for the younger boy. We need closets for both, and will re-purpose the built-in white armoire somewhere else. The built-in drawers could be removed for a small mini-closet in the smaller room, and there is also a door to a small unfinished attic space that could be used for storage or play.
WISHES: We would like to see the use of artistic painting on the walls, like murals, etc. Current decor is not our taste - it is left over from previous owners. Included are pictures of the kid’s current rooms for an idea of our taste, especially the girl's room which is more finished. Would love to see something moveable (like a train track?) that could travel between rooms, perhaps elevated. We need new finishes everywhere, and window treatments.
TIMELINE: We would like to begin work on this project in the next 2 months, but would like to finalize the design now so we can get bids from contractors.
