I. DESCRIPTION:
There are 6 shades of pink in my 6' x 6.5' bathroom and I want to get rid of them all. This is the only full bath in my 100 year old, colonial style house. The toilet overflows and has damaged the ceiling in my kitchen below (next project) so the toilet must be replaced and a good subfloor installed. I intend to gut the whole room and start with everything new. However, I may also want to expand into the adjacent storage room if it is feasible and affordable. I have already researched designs and costs of combining the bathroom with the entire storage room and that remodeling project is out of my price range. Therefore, I have the dilemma of trying to decide whether to keep the same bathroom size or to move the wall partially into the storage room (the complete wall or just part of it). To expand sounds fantastic but storage/closet space is limited in my old house so I need a strong concept to consider an expansion.

II. MY GOAL:
I would like a functional, updated room that maxes out the limited space. Today’s popular 'spa retreat' style sounds wonderful and I envision that in a room of blue and white with brown accents but I'm open to other color suggestions. Currently there is only 12" between the toilet and the tub so I would like a design with more room in front of the toilet and would consider a wall mounted toilet. I need storage so a pedestal sink will not do. I like storage behind cabinet doors and not like today’s contemporary open shelving. It is okay to remove the radiator and use an alternative heating system. I want to keep a shower/tub combination. A shower curtain is fine instead of glass doors to cut down on the costs. I would rather spend money on a customized countertop or maybe a pocket door because currently the space is very tight between the entry door and sink so it feels cramped even with just one person in the room. I would like a bathroom to have low maintenance materials so I do not have to routinely seal anything to prevent stains.

In addition to the ideas, I would like to work with someone to execute the project. I could use the help in finding and selecting products
